Report Back From Iraq with John Grant

John Grant, activist, photographer and president of Philadelphia Veterans for Peace. In December, John was part of a fact-finding mission to Iraq with Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Global Exchange in San Francisco; Military Families Speak Out, and other veterans. On the trip, there were four parents who had sons & daughters serving in Iraq, including one whose son had been killed in March. The delegation visited schools and hospitals, spoke with both Sunni and Shiite representatives, and met with Paul Bremer and the current president of the Iraqi Governing Council. Following the trip, he met with officials in Washington and at the United Nations. John will share his observations from the trip and his thoughts on the future of Iraq.

Storytellings

Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.

For reservations for à la carte dinner 6pm, and/or Storytelling at 7:30, call 215-386-9224. (Preferential seating given to those dining; remaining seats available to those with reservation for storytelling only.) Singles welcome at group tables.
