Underground Railroad Tour

Meet at the White Dog Cafe and embark on a tour to witness the emotional and spiritual battles of conscience waged by men and women who risked their lives as station masters on the Underground Railroad. The tour, guided by V. Chapman Smith, Regional Director of the National Archives Mid Atlantic Region, includes a stop at Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church, a meeting with “Harriet Tubman” at the Civil War and Underground Railroad Museum an exploration of the Johnson House and Concord School and Upper Burying Ground. Enjoy lunch at Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, the White Dog Cafe’s Germantown-based “sister” restaurant. (White Dog Philadelphia Sister Restaurant Program promotes minority owned businesses)
