Fear of Intimacy - Get Over It!

Argie J. Allen is a family therapist at the Penn Council for Relationships, University City office, and co-program director of the Council’s Anger Management Course. She will share stories of individuals, couples and families with whom she has worked and will lead a discussion on the role of different personality traits, especially vulnerability, as they affect intimate relationships. Operating since 1927, the Penn Council for Relationships (formerly the Marriage Council of Philadelphia) is a counseling, educational and research center with 10 offices in greater Philadelphia.

Storytellings

Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.

Optional à la carte dinner at 6pm is followed by storytelling at 7:30pm. Reservations recommended (215) 386-9224. Open seating at bar for drinks, snacks or desserts. Singles welcome at group tables.
