Individual and institutional racism is often subtle and unrecognized. Consequently, it is perpetuated and permitted by white people who would not see themselves as ‘racist.’ This has a profound and devastating social impact. Through guided small-group discussions over dinner, followed by a larger group discussion, this program will focus on the responsibility of white people to identify, address and confront racism in our lives. As an organizer, activist, trainer and consultant, Mattheus has worked on class and race-related issues for the last 26 years. This presentation is co-sponsored by Training for Change, an activist training center.
