Claudia Gould, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art since September 1999, will share her vision for the future of this premier Philadelphia museum, including exhibitions collaborating with architects and designers and a new project space to highlight the work of emerging artists and smaller installations. Prior to coming to Philadelphia, Ms. Gould was executive director of Artists Space, NYC's leading venue for emerging artists.
5pm optional tour of Los Angeles artist Bruce Yonemoto's first one-person exhibit, featuring video installations that explore the possibility of forging community in an age when corporations colonize many facets of our lives. The exhibit includes a large, three-channel work, Hanabi Fireworks, where blurred images of recognizable corporate logos float like apparitions on multiple screens and morph into pyrotechnics. Meet at the ICA at 116 South 36th Street at 5pm for the tour. ($3 General Admission to the ICA)
Table Talks at 6pm include a three course dinner, followed by speaker and discussion from 7:30-9pm. $30 per person, includes tax and gratuity. Cash bar. Senior citizens (over 65) and full-time students $25 with advance notification.
