Families Against Mandatory Minimums

Monday, April 9, 7:30pm

Mandatory minimum sentencing is driving much of the war on drugs and the mass incarceration of non-violent offenders. Under current 'conspiracy laws,' individuals who have knowledge of a drug offense are held accountable as if they were an actual drug dealer and are subject to mandatory time in prison. Monica Pratt is Director of Communications for Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), a DC-based organization advocating for sentencing reform through the elimination of mandatory minimums. She will be joined by members of families affected by mandatory minimums.
