Start at the White Dog for coffee and muffins before walking a few blocks to meet Mike Coleman, University of Pennsylvania Director of Central Services at the UPenn Module Building (Mods). Distinctly visible from the 76 Expressway (at the Greys Ferry Exit), this state-of-the-art facility replaced three older buildings that provided air conditioning to a majority of the buildings on UPenns campus. Mods is a combination of technology and art, creating large volumes of AC at a dramatically more efficient and ozone friendly rate than its predecessors.
Well walk 3 blocks to the Building the Town Green Conference & Trade Show. Organized by DVGBC, a representative will guide us through the trade show which will showcase a variety of green building products & services possibly to include green carpeting, roofing, gardening, paints, renewable energy & more.
After our tours, we will break for a picnic lunch and discussion.. This is your chance to find out what questions you should be asking your contractor for that upcoming home improvement project. Or, if you are a do-it-yourselfer, find out what you should be on the look out for to keep your home earth friendly. You will be given free time after lunch to explore in depth the rest of the Trade Show.
