Meet at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Tinicum Marsh, the largest freshwater tidal marsh in southeastern PA.
We will have an introduction of the newly opened Cusano Environmental Education Center, as well as an overview of the Refuge, with its beautiful landscaped forests, meadows, marshes, tidal impoundments and meandering creeks, with Dick Nugent, director of the local US Fish and Wildlife Service, which manages the Refuge. Migratory birds abound, so bring your binoculars.
We will have a White Dog picnic lunch at Tinicum, which is located near the Philadelphia airport. (Click here for directions with a map.)
