"Bringing Down the Dictator

Sunday, May 22, 6:30pm

Even in the 20th century - uniquely rich in genocide, institutionalized thuggery, ethnic cleansing, and demagogues — the regime of Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic stands out. The extraordinary story of the overthrow of the “Butcher of the Balkans” by an avowedly nonviolent group of student revolutionaries whose weapons included humor, ridicule, and the Internet is captured in Bringing Down a Dictator.

George Lakey will lead us in uplifting discussion of how non-violent social change strategy is an effective and essential tool for regime change at home and abroad. George is Director of the non profit Training for Change, a global leader in training non-violent social change agents.
