Community Service Days
Butterfly Garden and Edible Landscape
Sunday, May 23, 10am - 2pm
Two gardens in one service day! We will revisit both the Butterfly Garden and the Edible Landscape on the grounds of the Horticultural Center in Fairmont Park to see the progress of our work from prior Service Days. Learn about creating a butterfly habitat using native plants while helping with spring maintenance of the Butterfly Garden. We will also work on the Edible Landscape, a garden created to show how much food can be grown on one vacant city lot. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in both gardens with instruction from Doris Stahl, coordinator of Horticultural Programs, and a volunteer master gardener of Philadelphia.
Space is limited. Please call (215) 386-9224 to reserve your place. Rain or Shine. Complimentary lunch will be provided for volunteers.
