Meet at the White Dog Cafe for coffee and muffins before boarding a school bus for Seven Stars Farm, a 350-acre Biodynamic dairy farm in Phoenixville, PA.
Farmers David & Edie Griffiths will take us on a tour of the farm and their yogurt making facilities where they still process Seven Stars yogurt in small batches.
After the tour, we will enjoy a box lunch on the farm, and hear from David about Biodynamic farming – a self-sufficient system that builds and sustains soil fertility through crop rotation and farm compost.
This tour was organized in conjunction with, and profits will benefit, the Philadelphia Fair Food Project. Fair Food, a program of the White Dog Cafe Foundation, is dedicated to bringing natural and humanely-raised meats to the Philadelphia marketplace and supporting regional, small-scale farmers.
