What Liberal Media?

The Truth About Bias and the News

Monday, June 9, 6pm

with Eric Alterman

Eric Alterman, writer of the “Stop the Presses” media column for “The Nation” and the “Altercation” web log (www.altercation.msnbc.com) for MSNBC.com. A scholar in international relations and US history, Alterman has a number of award-winning books, including “Sound & Fury: The Making of the Punditocracy,” winner of the 1992 George Orwell Award, and “It Aint’s No Sin to be Glad You’re Alive: The Promise of Bruce Springsteen,” which won the 1999 Stephen Crane Literary Award. In his latest book, “What Liberal Media,” Alterman refutes the widespread assertion of left-wing bias in the mainstream media & reveals the gradual shift that the media has actually made to the right. His book is viewed as “...a much needed antidote to the hate-filled poison spewing from conservative authors these days.”
