Eric Schlosser, a correspondent for the Atlantic Monthly and author of “Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal,” takes a looks at the fast food industry’s global impact on the eating habits of entire generations and the growing divide between rich and poor. This industry both “feeds and feeds off the children” with billion dollar partnerships between fast food and Hollywood. Fast food is directly linked to an unhealthy demand for beef, which has opened the door to the industrialization of cattle production, crippling independent ranchers and creating “rural ghettos” around slaughterhouses.
