Table Talk Tuna & Broccoli: The Science of Taste and Smell Monday, June 18, 6pm with Gary K. Beauchamp. Gary K. Beauchamp, president and director of the Monell Chemical Sciences Center located in University City. Internationally recognized for its research in the biology and physiology of the chemical senses since 1968, the Center's findings on taste and smell impact a range of important topics such as nutrition, food preferences, environmental odors and irritants, pheromones, and chemosensory disorders. Beauchamp will offer an overview of this fascinating research and its relationship to our everyday lives - including our tasty White Dog dinner. Optional 5pm Tour: Meet at the Monell Center (3500 Market St.) at 5pm for a tour of the Center with Dr. Beauchamp. * * * * * * * Table Talk Reservations Table Talks at 6pm include a three course dinner, followed by speaker and discussion from 7:30-9pm. $30 per person, includes tax and gratuity. Cash bar. Senior citizens (over 65) and full-time students $25 with advance notification.
