The US imprisons more than 2 million citizens – the largest percentage of its population of any nation on earth, yet recidivism rates show the prison system to be a practical failure. Hugely wasteful, it is a moral failure as well. This talk will explore the systemic issues that lock us into a punishment mentality, while proposing how we can move toward a paradigm based on healing, justice and transformation.
