Philadelphia Stories “Stories of Hope from Africa” with Irma Turtle Monday, October 22 at 6:00 pm The Founder and President of TurtleWill, a humanitarian organization that operates in Niger, Mali and Ethiopia and focuses on creating positive partnerships with tribal peoples. The work of TurtleWill is aligned directly with the 2000 Millennium Development Goals in healthcare, education, and economic development accomplished through such diverse programs as mobile medical clinics, animal health initiatives, well digging projects and handicraft cooperatives. * * * * * * * Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.
