Leonard-Wright and Lui are two of five women, all of different ethnic groups, who have written the first multicultural history of our government’s policies which have contributed to increased white net worth while creating obstacles to wealth-building for people of color. Their book, The Color of Wealth: The Story Behind the US Racial Wealth Divide, suggests asset-building initiatives to narrow the racial wealth divide and promote economic justice. A former hospital worker, local union president and health care organizer, Lieu is Executive Director of United for a Fair Economy, a Boston-based national organization which raises awareness of the damaging consequences of concentrated wealth and power in this country. Leondar-Wright is Communications Director of UFE and author of Class Matters: Cross Class Alliance Building for Middle-Class Activists.
