Breakfast Talk:

Grannies for Peace

Tuesday, June 27, 8am

The Granny Peace Brigade are eighteen women from 60 to 91 who, because of passionate opposition to the Iraq war, attempted enlisting in the military last October to replace grandchildren.  They felt it better they sacrifice their lives for Bush's agenda than kids on the brink of life.

They were arrested and jailed when they sat down to protest their being denied entrance.  After a lengthy trial, they were acquitted.  Their case drew international notice, motivating grandmothers everywhere to openly resist.  They will tour the East Coast to discuss their action and encourage others.  The eighteen are an interesting group -- a noted Broadway actress, a psychoanalyst, a pediatrician, an architect, a singer/songwriter, social workers, teachers, and artists.  Come hear the Jailbird Grannies speak and perform.

$15/person includes free-range eggs or pancakes, homemade muffins and scones, orange juice, coffee, tax and gratuity. Students and Seniors $12

Reservations required, call 215-386-9224.
