A Local Perspective on Immigration Issues
with Judi Bernstein-Baker, Peter Bloom, Regan Cooper and Denise Michultka

Our panel will present a varied perspective on local issues, as well as discuss current legislative iniatives and national policies regarding immigration. Bernstein-Baker is Executive Director of HIAS and Council Migration Service, which offers legal services for asylum seekers and domestic violence survivors, children and families; Bloom is Director of JUNTOS/La Casa de los Soles, a membership organization of Mexican and Latino immigrants working to build power for justice in Philadelphia and in their home countries; Cooper is Executive Director of the advocacy group, P.A. Immigration and Citizenship Coalition; and Michultka is Director of the Liberty Center for Survivors of Torture, which provides services for survivors in the US, as well as training for service providers internationally.
