Corporate Responsibility & The Price of a Banana

with Linda Panetta

Monday, July 25, 7:30pm

Neglectful corporate policies have caused large-scale pesticide contamination in Nicaragua causing 2,000 dead and 20,500 more to suffer from blindness, tumors, cancer, sterility and more. 6,500+ of those affected trekked 200Km to establish an encampment in front of the Nicaraguan National Assembly seeking government enforcement of their successful lawsuit against Dow, Shell, Occidental, Dole, DelMonte, and Chiquita - makers and users of known-toxic pesticides. Activist/photojournalist Panetta will share stories and photos from Nicaragua, including conversations with former Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega, and lead a discussion about corporate responsibly and workers rights.
