Sunday Night Film Series

"Toxic Bust"

Sunday October, 28,
5pm Dinner/6:30pm Screening

October is breast cancer awareness month!

A healthy woman finds a lump in her breast and her story launches this thought-provoking, forty minute documentary that explores the relationship between breast cancer and exposure to toxic chemicals. As this newly diagnosed woman questions what may have caused her cancer, the film focuses on three breast cancer “hot spots,” (Cape Cod MA, the SF bay area, and workers in Silicon Valley) to explore more fully the connection between cancer and chemical exposure in the household, community, and workplace. “Toxic Bust” closes by highlighting efforts that individuals, communities and businesses have made to reduce toxic exposures.

Following the film there will be discussion lead by representatives from the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation which provides educational information and skill building to individuals to better ensure their understanding of the complexity of breast cancer. Staff and advocates have been reviewers for scientific research including, current environmental research projects.

Reservations for a la carte dinner (beginning at 5pm) are highly recommended as seating is limited. Preferential seating given to those dining; standing room is available for those interested in the film only. Discussion will follow film. Dinner, Dessert, Bar & Grill, and beverage service is available before & after films only.
