Senior Tales:
Staying Engaged Over 55
Monday, August 6, 7:30pm
We will be joined by seniors who elaborate upon the diverse and meaningful roles that seniors are undertaking in today's society.
Edith Wegman is a counselor and educational specialist for Seniors at Work, which assists those 55 and older in finding work in nonprofit organizations.
West Philadelphia resident, Mamie E. Wiggins, is president of the
Action Alliance of Senior Citizens, which is allying with local AIDS activists around the shared issue of accessibility to prescription drugs.
Fred Lewis is a VISTA volunteer at the Center in the Park in Germantown, an affiliate of the PA Senior Environment Corps.

Storytellings
Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.
Optional à la carte dinner at 6pm is followed by storytelling at 7:30pm. Reservations recommended (215) 386-9224. Open seating at bar for drinks, snacks or desserts. Singles welcome at group tables.
