The State of the Labor Movement:
A Labor Day Report

Wednesday, September 4, 8am

with Kati Sipp, director of Philadelphia area Jobs with Justice, and representatives from local unions

They will discuss current labor issues, including the impact of public school privatization, building trades and the convention center, unionizing of childcare workers and graduate employees, and the affect of trade agreements on the garment industry. They will also discuss the general impact of welfare reform and the post 9/11 stimulus tax bill on working people in America. Founded in 1999, Jobs with Justice has become the progressive voice on behalf of Philadelphia’s working people and their communities, building solidarity around common campaigns for justice and dignity.

Breakfast talks at 8am include full breakfast with coffee and orange juice, followed by speaker and discussion until 9:30am. $12 per person, includes tax & gratuity.
