Jews Speaking Out for Justice in Palestine

Jewish activists will tell their stories of courageously challenging the Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian Territories despite criticism from their communities and families.
Cy and Lois Swartz, a senior couple who have worked for justice since their wedding in 1960, are organizers of the weekly vigil at the Israeli consulate on S. 15th Street, which began its third year March 1, 2004.
Deb Shoval wrote & directed "An Olive on the Seder Plate," a multi-media performance about how progressive Jews wrestle with the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza strip. Mark Miller is a volunteer for Playgrounds for Palestine.
Susan and Ben Landau are mother and son activists.
Rachael Kamel is a founding member of the Jewish Mobilization for a Just Peace.
Elliott batTzedek is a member of the Philadelphia Jewish Peace Network, and, as a writer and liturgist, creates liturgy for Jewish holiday rituals which make space for questions to be raised about roles as Jews, U.S. citizens, and activists.

Storytellings
Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.
For reservations for à la carte dinner 6pm, and/or Storytelling at 7:30, call 215-386-9224. (Preferential seating given to those dining; remaining seats available to those with reservation for storytelling only.) Singles welcome at group tables.
