Holly Sklar, an op-ed columnist for Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services and co-author of Raise the Floor: Wages and Policies That Work for All of Us. With the poverty rate higher than it was three decades ago and wealth being redistributed from lower-income to higher-income Americans, Sklar tells the story of working families unable to meet basic needs and growing government irresponsibility. Within the context of tax cuts, CEO greed and deepening budget crises, she offers clear policy solutions to enable all Americans to make ends meet. Sklar is also director of MediaVision, a Boston-based strategic research, analysis, and communications firm. Her other books include Chaos or Community? Seeking Solutions, Not Scapegoats for Bad Economics and Streets of Hope: The Fall and Rise of an Urban Neighborhood.
