Jim in Bold

Jim in Bold is a documentary film presenting the many complicated issues facing gay and lesbian teens. Titled after a poem of the same name by Jim Wheeler, the young man whose life and tragic death the film honors. Jim in Bold explores the profound impact of nationally tolerated homophobia in our culture and public schools on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. The film simultaneously reveals a hopeful aspect of being young and gay in America, by featuring many gay teens that are creating and promoting a positive self-image.

Three speakers will share about there work on the subject and facilitate questions, answers and discussion. Malcolm Lazin, Executive Director of the Equality Forum, who produced the film; Susan Wheeler the mother of Jim Wheeler; and a representative of the Attic Youth Center a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQ youth tobe themselves.

Sunday Night Film Series Reservations

Reservations for optional dinner (6pm) or Free film showing (7pm) are highly recommended as seating is limited. (Preferential seating given to those dining; remaining seats available to those with reservation for film only.) Discussion will follow film.
