Mural Arts 20th Anniversary Party
CANCELED!
We hope to do something in the Spring to celebrate the 20 years of amazing work from the Mural Arts Program. If you would like to sign up on our mailing and/or email list, click here and we will keep you informed of the new programs with Mural Arts and all the events here at the White Dog. Thanks!
Join Jane Golden, Director of the Mural Arts Program, (MAP) and a host of artists, community leaders, policy makers and activists to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special cocktail reception and dinner.
At 5pm, the kick off cocktail reception begins upstairs in Judy’s house with hors d’oeuvres, beer & wine and special guest Dr. Howard Zehr. Considered the founder of the contemporary restorative justice movement, Dr. Zehr has written, taught and lectured internationally on victim-offender mediation. He is also an accomplished documentary and journalistic photographer. His book, Changing Lenses: A New Focus for Crime and Justice, is widely regarded as a standard in the field. He will display some of his photographs for us this evening only.
Also present at the reception will be Lynwood Ray. Formerly an inmate at SCI Graterford, Lynwood was a participant in the Mural Arts Program's class at the facility and has been involved in every aspect of the project from initial design discussions to mounting on the walls on Germantown Avenue
We will walk downstairs to the White Dog at 6pm for dinner and a panel discussion on the Mural Arts Program- the Past 20 years and the Next 20 Years.
Panelists will include:
