Safina, Vice President for Marine Conservation at the National Audubon Society, is founder of Audubons Living Oceans Program, which works to restore abundant wildlife in our oceans and coasts, with an emphasis on fish and fishing. Through its newly published Seafood Lover's Almanac, a combination cookbook and field guide, the Program calls on consumers to use their buying power to support abundance in the seas.
Lovejoy is owner of EcoFish, a New Hampshire-based company which markets and distributes environmentally responsible seafood to restaurants and natural food stores nationwide, including the White Dog Cafe. (The Seafood Lover's Almanac will be for sale at The Black Cat.)
Table Talks at 6pm include a three course dinner, followed by speaker and discussion from 7:30-9pm. $30 per person, includes tax and gratuity. Cash bar. Senior citizens (over 65) and full-time students $25 with advance notification.
Student Stand By Policy: Students can call (215) 386-9224 between 4 - 5:30pm on event days for available seating at 6pm for dinner ($15) or to attend the discussion only at 7:30 (free).
