"Schuylkill River Secrets" "Tan established local writer, will share her story and the story of Flow: The Life and Times of Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River. Kephart says “As someone who thinks about the world and our place in it and how we leave it, I approached the book not as a historian, but as a woman, as a woman with great respect for the people who have kept this river alive.” Join Beth as she shares her story and traces the river’s experience through time. * * * * * * * Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness. Reservations required. 215-386-9224.
