"Schuylkill River Secrets"

"Tan established local writer, will share her story and the story of Flow: The Life and Times of Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River. Kephart says “As someone who thinks about the world and our place in it and how we leave it, I approached the book not as a historian, but as a woman, as a woman with great respect for the people who have kept this river alive.” Join Beth as she shares her story and traces the river’s experience through time.

Storytelling night provides the opportunity to hear the life stories of a variety of peoples and gives voice to underrepresented groups such as ex-offenders, senior citizens, gays, youth, immigrants and homeless people. They also provide a forum to exchange perspectives at a personal level on experiences such as war, civil rights marches, parenting issues, and illness.
