In this tour, guided by former Philadelphia Housing Director John Kromer, you’ll see how a sustainable design advocate converted a former rag factory into attractive new housing; how an industrial-era rail yard is being transformed into a residential and retail complex; and how yard and garden improvement projects have brought new beauty to older neighborhoods. This tour of North and West Philadelphia will be followed by lunch and conversation about how communities organize to transform vacant properties into new neighborhood assets.
