Military Recruiting in the Schools and the Prospects for Reinstatement of the Draft

J.E. McNeil is the Executive Director of the Center on Conscience & War, an organization dedicated to defending and extending the rights of conscientious objectors. For 25 years, McNeil was a practicing attorney defending conscientious objectors, military tax resisters and demonstrators. Oskar Castro is the National Coordinator of the American Friends Service Committee’s program on Youth and Militarism. They will present the facts on the draft reinstatement, military recruiting in schools, and offer options to military service. Navy Veteran Dustin Langley is the National Coordinator for No Draft, No Way. He will introduce their book, We Won’t Go: A Guide to Counter-Recruiting and Draft Resistance.

Table Talk Reservations

Table Talks at 6pm include a three course dinner, followed by speaker and discussion from 7:30-9pm. $38 per person, includes tax and gratuity. Cash bar. Senior citizens (over 65) and full-time students $30 with advance notification.

Student Stand By Policy: Students can call (215) 386-9224 between 4 - 5:30pm on event days for available seating at 6pm for dinner ($20) or to attend the discussion only at 7:30 (free).

Please call (215) 386-9224 for reservations before sending payment. Advance payment required by giving a credit card over the phone or sending a check. Single reservations are welcome at Table Talks where you'll be seated at a group table. Vegetarian dishes are always offered.
