In Holland, where drug use has been decriminalized, drug abuse is viewed as a health problem rather than a criminal problem, and marijuana, readily available in coffeeshops, is separated from hard drugs and regulated more as we do alcohol.
Our tour will show how the Dutch policy has worked and will provide the opportunity to compare it to the ineffectual, inhumane and expensive US War on Drugs. We will meet with sociologists, doctors, professors, politicians and visit coffeeshops including our Dutch sister restaurant, drug treatment facilities and a prison, through which we will gain an understanding of how a compassionate drug policy reflects the underlying values of Dutch society.
We are looking for people with a background in health and social services, legislature, activism, drug law or policy to join us. If you are interested in attending, please email us your name, address, phone number and profession/background. Thank you!
